Attention: Valued Sprague Foods Customers
In recent weeks, we have all witnessed the dramatic escalation of the COVID-19 crisis. As part of its response, the Government of Canada is now advising Canadians to stock up on canned soups and beans.
The marked increase in demand for canned goods caused by this pandemic is without parallel in our company’s 95-year history and is putting unprecedented strain on our finite capacity. Please know that Sprague Foods is making every effort to produce as much product as possible while ensuring strict compliance with existing health and safety procedures.
Canadians need nutritious and reliable food supplies during anticipated periods of wide-spread social distancing and isolation, and we are here to help. We recognize the potential threat this pandemic poses to our local and national food security and see it as our civic responsibility to make every effort to continue production in this time of need.
At this point, it is clear that we will not be able to fulfill all orders completely. As such, we ask for patience from all affected by shortages. We are working as hard as we can to catch up with demand.
We also want you to know that, as a matter of principle, we are against any form of profiteering from this crisis and intend to keep prices at pre-pandemic levels. However, in the event that we start experiencing increased prices for ingredients and supplies, we will have no choice but to pass these price increases on to our customers. If and when this occurs, we will be transparent in showing the reason for any price increases.
